Week in Review...

Rachel and the boys came to visit for the week, which was so much fun. Unfortunately it rained the WHOLE week so we couldn't do any out door activities. We made the best of it though and had a great time together. Here are some pictures of our time.

Bye Bye House

Nate and I finished up moving yesterday. The month long process is finally over, which is a huge relief. It is nice to be back in my home state of Oklahoma! We are looking forward to enjoying the rest of the summer here, it promises to be a more relaxing than the first half!

Happy Father's Day!

I just wanted to wish Nate and all you other fathers out there a happy happy day! I love watching a father in action. What a great testimony it is to see a father/child relationship; it reminds me of how our Father in heaven cares for us so much. God bless you all!

Baby Mum Mums

Has anyone ever heard of these? They are a cracker/wafer for babies 4 months and older to chew on. Now to me, just the name of this product makes them sound not credible. But, I gave them a shot and Austin actually liked them. He chowed down two in one sitting! Beware though... if you try them...they get very sticky! I made the mistake of not putting a bib on Austin the first time and he got the sticky crackers all down his shirt. Here are some pictures of his first time feeding himself...

Whew...this is what my week looks like...

This coming weekend we are moving all of our stuff to a storage unit, so I have been packing like crazy trying to get our stuff all boxed up. We are trying to figure out how in the world we accumulated so much stuff, we honestly don't know where it came from and for some strange reason we think we need all of it! The sad thing is that Nate used to be able to fit everything he owned in the back of his old 4Runner, so of course he thinks all this stuff is my fault! :) I really do get rid of a LOT of stuff, I promise!
It hasn't really hit me yet that we are leaving our home in a little over a week. This is our first house and it has been so good to us, I hope we can find one in Alaska that we love just as much. I guess because we are staying in the Midwest right now we don't really feel like we are leaving. I am sure the sadness won't really hit us until we find ourselves unpacking in Alaska where we know hardly anyone. The Lord is faithful though, and we are sure that He will provide grace for whatever He brings along our path.
I hope your weeks are all going well!

Bitten by SJP

Mother Load: Mom Advice posted a blog a few weeks ago about this new line that Sarah Jessica Parker put out. Oprah did a whole show about frugal fashion finds and SJP had her new line of clothing included on the show. This is what the girl at MotherLoad says,
I was not disappointed with this past Friday's episode where a new line of clothing from Sarah Jessica Parker is set to come out on June 7th. If you still have it taped, it is worth it to watch! Her tag line is,"Fashion is Not a Luxury" and she has embraced that with a line of clothing from Steve & Barry's that she is calling Bitten. These clothes are never over twenty dollars and include shoes, bags, suits, jackets, blazers & other fashionable gear, many never ever at the twenty dollar mark (even in the discount stores).

I can't say whether or not the clothing is of good quality, but she is raving about it, so we will have to take her word on that one! The clothing line looks like it has tons of great basics, that will pair well with each other and as separates. While some critics have said the line is boring, I love a good basic line that will go with everything.

Nathan and I took a break from our busy busy week and spent the morning out shopping. We stopped by Steve & Barry's to see what all the fuss was about. I just have to say, I LOVE her new line (it is totally my style but I know it won't be everyones), so go and check it out for yourself. It is definitely worth the effort to go and see if you like it too! Nate was pretty impressed and I was ecstatic...I love clothes and even more I love a good price on cute clothes. Happy Shopping!

We must be completely insane. Who else on earth do you know who would install a sprinkler system in their lawn three weeks before they are moving out? Yes, I am sad to say I think we have completely lost our minds. A project Nate thought would take him a "few" days to do, he is now on day 5 of. Yikes...will it ever be done? Thankfully Andrew K came down and helped him yesterday. Hopefully he will be done today (or maybe more like tomorrow). And then we just have to get the grass to grow back.

This is Nate with the trencher he rented. So manly, eh?

You can't see it very well in the picture but Nate had to dig a 5 foot hole in our flower bed to tap the main water line. He had to get down in the hole and scoop out the dirt with a cup. (I think he did this the hard way!)

My poor flower beds...all torn up.

So, here is our advice to you. If you ever get the crazy idea to install a sprinkler system by yourself...DON'T DO IT! Unless of course you will stay in your house for longer than three weeks, and actually get to enjoy the benefits of all your hard work! :)

4 Year Anniversary

It is hard to believe Nate and I have been married for four years now. Yesterday May 31st was our anniversary. We went out to dinner at PF Changs which is one of our favorites. We have been so busy lately though that we haven't even had time to shop for gifts for each other yet. Maybe next week...
Here are some photos of our wedding. What great memories for us!
